I have to agree with you, Victoria. I just had an endometrial biopsy (which was fine). My doctor just started me on Yasmin and told me that I may not get a period and that it's okay. I asked her to explain why this was okay, since I always thought that it wasn't good to go without it. She said that since my lining wasn't thick, the bcp would continue to allow my lining to stay that way. The hormones would do their part in "shedding" the lining however, I still may not bleed. She said I have a 50/50 chance of bleeding each month and the main reason for "needing" a period is to prevent the lining from thickening. (hope I explained that right).

If you look on the womens health list, when a period is controlled by the pill, they have had people go up to 22 months (do a search on that, I believe that was the number) straight. When you are not having periods by yourself that a doctor isn't working with, then you have a problem and need to have one induced every 3 months. > >-- >Victoria > >From: anonymous@obgyn.net (anonymous) > >Be aware that it is harmful to go more than 3 months without a period. Never stay on the hormone medication pills for longer than that. >
