This is the dose I started at, and it was fine for me. However, some women find even 500mg/day to be too much at the beginning and have to start at 250mg/day. So... only way to see if it's a good starting dose for you is to try it and see. Generally, you will start at a lower dose than is theraputic and work on up from there. Some women do seem to do well on 1000mg/day for therapy, although the reccomended range for therapy is 1500mg-2250mg. Does your doctor plan to raise your dosage in time?
