I can't really help too much on the IR front, but perhaps I can give you some encouragement.

I started to take met 1500mg in May 2001. It didn't really do much for me. In December 2001 I changed to my current doctor. He was raving about the met, and I voiced my concerns. He said that it works best in conjunction with a low carb diet, told me how, and what I could and could not eat. I lost a fair amount of weight, and then he operated on me, doing ovarian drilling to remove as many of the cysts as possible.

In September this year, I started IUI and fell pregnant first time. We had been trying for three years.

My advice to you, would be to go back to your doctor and ask questions. Look how much time I wasted before I started to get the answers I needed to help me.
