Hi again Staci, I have a question for you. Are you seeing an
endocrinologist or a gnyocologist? The reason I am asking is that I am
not trying to concieve and have been on metformin for 6 months. Met is
a insullin senitizing drug. If you need to be on it, it's not to try to
have a child. Its for insullin resistance. I would think that a endo
would know that, but maybe a gyno might not, though they should if they
are Rx it. I might suggest visiting an endo. They are far more
knowlegeable in dealing with pcos than a gyno is. If you are seeing an
endo you need to see another one. So many girls go to the gyno first
because they are trying to either get pregnant or get their menstral
cycles on tract. These are symptoms of the problem. They are not THE
problem. The main problem with PCOS is your bodies inability to
adequetly combine insullin and sugar to make energy. Wether you choose
dietary changes or metformin to combat the problem, that is how it is
solved. As for the likelyhood of blood clots on birthcontrol pills I'll
give you a quick list of increased risk factors. Smoking Overweight
Insullin Resistance Diabetes Family history of Blood Clots. Obiviously
pulmonary Embolisms dont happen to everyone but Women that have pcos do
have a greater risk of clots than the general poulation. I want to say
also that I had my tubes tied so I don't have to worry about an unwanted
pregnancy. Some bcps are better than others. Yasmin for one. I just
want to make sure that the it hardly happens to anyone rule is not the
only thing you go by.
Feel free to Email me if you have any more questions
