Valerie you're too funny! I hate how coworkers and friends and everyone else try to be so helpful, because it's so well-intentioned, and so maddening!

To the best of my knowledge, and after all these years of obsessing I believe I would have heard something if it wasn't true, BBT works just fine for ANY woman, PCOS or not. In fact, I believe it's even more important for women with PCOS and therefore somewhat sketchy cycles and/or ovulation, because we can't always rely on that "2 weeks before your period" deal. You can always give it a try and if it's just too frustrating, go back to what you've been doing!

If you actually wake up every morning at 11am, you can take your temp at 11 every morning. But if you wake up at like 9 and stay in bed until 11, it won't be accurate. It has to be when you first wake up, when you're half asleep really is best, before you speak or drink water or get up to pee or anything.

I am *so* not a morning person either, and I found this was okay after the first month or so. On weekends, I even wake up at my standard time, take my temp, and can roll over and go back to sleep. I never used to be able to go back to sleep once I was up, but I think I trained myself! It helps if you get a thermomter that records the last temp taken. That way, you can check what your temp was later in the day to record it. When you take it, you don't even have to look at the darn thing, you just throw it back on the nightstand once it beeps - no numbers to remember in your sleep.

Good luck to you Valerie - I am hoping this works well for you! We can be cycle buddies :)
