Met -- Confused!

I was prescribed met about 2 years ago. I had horrible side effects and was switched to Avandia. I did well on Avandia but have since been taken off because my 3-month insulin level was low enough on the meds that my doctor thought it was worth seeing how I would do now without any meds. Fortunately I have been doing really well.

Now we're TTC and I'm very frustrated by my cycle. While I'm so thankful that it appears I'm ovulating (I've been charting temps and I do get a period at least every 34-40 days) I'm really frustrated by the whole process. Some of what I've been reading suggests that going on the met again even though my insulin levels are acceptable would help to further regulate my cycle. I'm willing to try the met again (I think some of my side effects were partially psychological because I simply didn't want to be on any meds!) if it will work, but I'm wondering if it will? Any thoughts would be GREATLY appreciated!
