Hey Valerie, hope this whole ttc thing isn't getting you down too bad! It sucks, I know. And of course, the inane comments other people make... grrr!

BBT charting works GREAT for me. It not only lets me know when I'm ovulating, I keep track of other symptoms and I can see how eating certain foods (sugar *cough*) or whatever affects my cycle. I know what symptoms to expect before, during, and after my period. I believe they can even be an early indicator of pregnancy, if the temps fall just right! The only bummer is waking up at the same time everyt day and remembering to take your temp. But I've never heard of a Cyster having problems with it either. It's pretty foolproof, right? If you ovulate, your temp changes, simple as that.

If you have a few extra bucks, I would SO recommend "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" by Toni Weschler. I think I spelled her name right. It goes over the whole BBT thing in detail and gives you LOTS of interpretation material. I mean lots. So if you're like me, and you have days where you just need to spend some time obsessing over your cycle (Did I ovulate this month? Was it a strong ovulation? How is my luteal phase generally looking? Is my progesterone high enough? etc etc etc ETC - the things I can think up!) this book is great.

Oh, and I have paid anywhere from $7 to $12 for a basal temp thermometer.

Best of luck to you girl, I know you'll make a fabulous mommy. Wish me luck too - I've had a recurring dream all week where I'm pregnant with twins, so I have my fingers crossed!
