Long Time Having PCOS, New to Site, Need Answers - Please Help (Long)

Hi! -

I'm hoping for some good advice because I'm at the end of my rope and need some answers about pcos. I also need to find out what symptoms other people have because I've got some weird ones and I'm frankly embarrassed about them.

I'm 31 years old and was diagnosed when I was 15. To be honest with you I really didn't give the diagnosis much thought then because being told by my doc that I might have difficulty getting pregnant wasn't really something I was worried about. I was put on the pill and was told to see an endo. Anyhoo, went on the pill but never saw an endo (I thought at the time, no need unless I was trying to get pregnant).

Anyhoo, so over the years have had a bunch of odd symptoms which were never connected and I suspect are all connected to the pcos: hirtuism (unfortunately in a bunch of places) & alopecia, weight gain, cystic acne, panic attacks and I'm always shaky even after I eat (although my current doc says I'm not IR).

So after years of not seeing an endo - I'm going December 6th. I'd like to know why I should go - what can the endo do that my doc can't? I'm just asking because I always feel like I'm going to a different doc all the time and no one seems to help me.

There is also something that I want to ask but an embarrassed because I'm not sure if it has to do with pcos. But oh well here goes - has anyone had a problem with pain during intercourse and gyn exams. I have terrible pain during intercourse with my husband and we kind of joke about the fact that he's just so huge :) and I'm tight so that's a good thing.

The last time I was at the doc, she 1) asked me if I was ever abused (I wasn't) and 2) suggested I insert a tapered candle to practice relaxing. I was a bit put off because it's not an issue of being relaxed - I love my husband and am always relaxed around him.

So I'm very confused and depressed because I'm gaining more weight, and have all these crappy symptoms, topping off with the last one and I'm just so tired feeling bad.

If someone has similar symptoms, please post a message, so I can find out some answers.

Thanks!
