Whoa... you didn't SAY you were on the pill! That changes everything, i think... if you are on a monophasic pill, your cycle wouldn't have ANY phases... it should be pretty much flatline, and then you'd have a withdrawal bleed a few days after stopping the pills (and the intake of progesterone). Since the pill pill puts the body in a state akin to pregnancy, MAYBE it would be safe to say it is like the luteal phase... but I am really not sure. I don't know if pregnant women are said to be in the luteal phase, or if there is another name for the phase they are in...

My non-professional opinion is ... something very strange is going on with you. Of course, I have never had blood work done while on BCPs but my understanding is that the pill lowers both your LH and your testosterone... giving a lot of women "false normal" blood work results. Your LH and T are still high. Plus, it seems odd that your progesterone would be low, given that the pill contains progesterone... (or maybe what the pill contains really just acts as a progesterone and therefore wouldn't show up as such on a blood test... not sure here...)

I don't know that day three testing is really critical if a person is on the pill. Like I said, your levels should be pretty consistant throughout the pill cycle. Day 3 testing might conceivably offer more abnormal results, since it would follow a non-pill week, when your screwey hormones might take over again. I'm really not sure. For a non-pill taking non-PCOS woman, I think the LH:FSH thing is kinda like... menstruating week, FSH is higher than LH, then LH starts to rise, peaks (ovulation), and falls back down... drops below FSH again near the end of the cycle. So during the first three days of a cycles, if a woman has higher LH:FSH, it's indicative of PCOS. On BCPs, I don't know that you can really tell anything.

Are you on a monophasic or triphasic pill? which pill? what kind of doctor are you seeing? have you considered going at the glucophage alone? i have also tried many different pills... finding one that is tolerable can be tricky. glucophage alone worked well for me... until i siwtched to generic. i'm looking forward to getting back off the pill and seeing if it works again.

Your situation sounds like quite a humdinger... i'm afraid that's about all the input I have!
