Re: ANY thoughts/opions? REPOST-trying againFrom: jodi (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 22 Nov 2002 15:01:26 -0600 (CST)
Can't say what phase you were in without knowing how long your cycles usually are... if you don't have regular or semi regular cycles, it may still be impossible to say! the phase before ovulation is "follicular" and the phase after is "luteal." i am not sure if since we PCOSers tend to ovulate so infrequently, if we are just almost always in the follicular phase... or if a different category applies to us. (personally, i think a different category should apply to us!) do you know your ovulatory signs? have you felt them this cycle? if so you're in luteal. else you are in follicular. that's really the best i can say. having blood work done with PCOS is a nightmare, ain't it? i remember being 16 and having a doc say to have bloodwork done 3 days after my next period starts. i somehow couldn't get across to him that that might not be until the next year, heh. in general, though, your LH:FSH ratio and testosterone levels are both out of whack and indicative of PCOS. (if it's any comfort, my testosterone started at 93... it could be worse!) don't know what to say about the low progest. and bleeding twice a cycle - some women have ovulatory spotting, is that what you mean? or is it prolonged bleeding twice a cycle? what does your doc plan to do wth you now? - jodi
