Re: PCOS And MeFrom: anonymous (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 14 Nov 2002 07:50:08 -0600 (CST)
Sonnet is right. Glucophage does not lower blood sugar. My blood sugar, which was too low due to a high insulin level, is actually higher since glucophage. It's possible, Ronicam, that you may not be eating enough or eating balanced enough when you take the medication. It's also possible that you may be on too high of a dose. Cutting the pills in half can sometimes completely alleviate the symptoms you mentioned. Maybe you want to try that. Someone else who wrote in on this "PCOS and Me" post (hard to keep track) mentioned going on ortho-tricyclen soon. Be careful. This particular bcp is not always good for pcos, so if it gives you problems, talk to your doctor about a more pcos friendly pill. Or ask your doctor about a more pcos friendly pill right from the start.
