Any Cysters with regular menstrual cycles???

I am just curious - I was partially diagnosed with PCOS about 2 years ago. I say that it was partially b/c I was on the pill (at that time and for 5 years prior) and my testosterone and DHEA levels came back relatively normal, but I had all of the outward symptoms.

About I week ago my newest test results came back and I have high test and VERY HIGH DHEA - so my OBGYN, at my request, put me on metformin.

When I was younger and not on the pill you could set your watch to it, Tuesday at about 4 in the afternoon. About 3 months ago I went off the pill to see if I would get a period. Sure enough -right as rain - it showed up like clockwork. And I have been getting one every 28 days ever since.

My question is: can you get a period (off the pill) without ovulating? What are the chances of me being fertile vs "infertile"?

FYI - I do have all the unpleasant outward symptoms: weight centered around my stomach, hair (!), and know that I am off the pill - the worst acne. (I started getting symptoms at about 17.... I am 32 now.)

My husband and I want to try to conceive in the spring. My Dr. was willing to put me on clomid last week, but I am not ready for that yet!!! :-)

Is there anyone else with PCOS that does get a period regularly? Does it make any difference to my fertility if I do get periods?
