In the past I have had my period for up to 45 days at a time. It is somewhat 'normal' in pcos. Are you treating the pcos at this time? (glucophage/metformin, diet and exercise). I was easily able to get control over my periods for the first time in my life (except while on birth control) after just 3 weeks on an extrememly low carb diet. I'm not recommending that for you, as you are trying to conceive (I was not, but became pregnant anyway due to the first-time-ever regulur cycles)- but perhaps with a good amount of exercise to lower your insulin resistance and almost no refined carbs (whole grains/foods only) you could get a little more control, and hope in ovulating. That lifestyle is also extremely good for a successful pregnancy and healthy baby - insulin resistant of not. It can also work quite quickly to manage pcos in many women. Good luck. Kimberly
