I was just diagonised with PCOS about four months ago. I haven't had a menstral cycle for almost nine months. I have been trying metformin to try to lose weight as a suggestion of my doctor. He has also mentioned considering gastric by-pass surgery to help with the syndrome. I am actively pursuing this option as I can't see how I am going to beat this thing without losing weight. I just haven't been able to do it on my own. I have tried other prescription drugs for weight loss and have only lost about 15-20lbs and that is it. This is the next step for me, and hopefully the last.
