Re: dealing with cravings

I eat the orange ones. They're not so good. And then I get disgusted and leave the rest alone.

Sugar gives me the wind like nothing else. It scares my friends away. Seriously. I have to say on walks after eating any carbs "Walk in front of me, you insane freak! What, do you want a mouthful of my STINK??!!" I am so pleased with low carbs. 3 days in a row of strict low carbos, and I won't pass gas. Sorry if you think I am vulgar, but it's been the bane of my life and very embarrassing. Now I know the cause. People used to tell me it was wheat or cruciferous veggies, or even "allergies". Nope. It was simple sugars. My body likes to work hard for it's calories. Now I try to only eat small amounts of carbs, and only around people I know ;o)

two things I made for myself so I don't feel left out during the holidays:

pumpkin ice cream (um, use a regular recipe but sub the sugar...I modified my mom's to use nonfat milk, a big can of unsweetened pumpkin filling, half the cream, sugar substitute, lots of spices and vanilla, and you have to eat it right quick or else it gets too icy if you store it)

AND

baker's cocoa and equal (the sugar substitute) dusted almonds. That helped a little.
