Good Point Renee,

My father in law passed away(ex) last December from so called"Bladder Cancer'...they said it was caused from smoking. The oncologist took all family members aside and said this should be indicitive for the family to stop smoking. Then came more sickness and the cancer was an adeno cancer that had spread from the colon to the bladder then all over.So the primary cancer was colon cancer, supposidly from being portuguese and eating a very high fat,low fiber diet.No on can say for sure what caused his cancer, but his ethnic background and eating lots of very high fat foods and breads and no fruits or veggies may have contributed to this cancer.THis is what we were told.He was a high risk candidate for cancer...smoker....drinker and sedentary lifestyle ,according to his doctor. Just an FYI.Anything is possible. Some people don't smoke and die from lung cancer...some never take drugs or drink and die from liver cancer. If it's in our cards...then it is. My attitude I am trying to change is -that if it is going to happen..then it will happen regardless of what we take. GO figure! Took them months to discover that the main cause was originating in his colon but the largest tumour was in the bladder that was the size of a grapefruit, yet the primary cancer was smaller and there were more of them in his colon.

I think all meds come with side effects....it's weighing out the risks and benefits of the meds.I am deathly scared of medications as I have had very bad reactions from many, but I now weigh everything out to see what is best for me.If one causes me side effects that are completely untolerable...no matter how much good they can do for my body...I stop them as I already know that sometimes side effects are worse than the illness it's self.

Most women on this forum are on Met or Gluc and we all seem to share only one familiar pattern..diarrhea and nausea. Can be worse I guess.

Most cholesterol drugs are harder on the liver than Met or GLuc.I have been on meds that had a black box warning about the possibilty of liver failure reported in some. >
