Make a long story short: Had irregular period since around 13. Eventually was on BC to regulate periods. Recently went off BC so that I could be ready for pregnancy. Did not get period. Was on provera several times to "jumpstart" ovulation. Worked for one month each time. Anyway, I was finally referred to an endocrinologist. I am not insulin resistent or obese. But I've been prescribed metaformin which I've been on for about a month and a half. I'm getting normal periods! But, I'm posting here for questions that others may have answers to. First, after my last dosage of BC, I had excessive dark hair growth on my lower back, gluteus around nipples and upper lip. Will that go away with metaformin treatment? Second, I attribute my cystic acne to the increased levels of testosterone. Has anyone had this problem and did it cease with the use of metaformin. Since age 12, I've always had an excessive yellowish/creamy white vaginal discharge. I've seen at least 6 different gynocologists who all told me it was normal for me and I should just douche once a week. I still do not accept this answer. Lastly, anyone else have dark pigmentation in the vaginal and anal area? (I'm caucasion, and the pigmentation is brown). I'd appreciate any responses I can get.
