Take Metformin with food!!! Stay away from carbs. Even with this I still had a drugged feeling, light head, dizzy, could not focus. I had to eventually switch to glucophage XR (Xtended Release) It is great!!!! I did have to stay on Meformin for a month to make sure that I could not get adjusted to it. Everyone says that the Metformin and normal glucophage works better. Some can take the Met and not the Gluc. and some only the XR. The doc. switched me dirctly to the XR.
