pregnancy and progesterone

I have just found out I am pregnant after following a moderately low carb diet for three months! Yipee!! But I can't get to see a doctor (GP) until Monday so I'm still taking the metformin. I'm concerned about low progesterone. Should I ask my doctor to do a progesterone test straight away? It will probably take a week to get the results. Will that be too late to start taking progesterone supplements? Should I ask for them anyway without testing or will they harm me if I am not deficient? Does anyone know approx what percentage of women with pcos who conceive need to take extra progesterone?

Thanks for any advice anyone can give
