I'm not sure about central NC, but I'm in Asheville in WNC, and Asheville Endocrinology uses both glucophage and metformin for PCOS-at least Dr. Speed there does. I've just started going there, tired of fighting with family doctor :) so I'll have to see how aggressive they're going to be. Looks maybe promising... Maybe if you call their office, they can recommend someone that end of the state for you??
