Re: PCOS sufferers in the UKFrom: Abi (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 9 Sep 2002 11:37:43 -0500 (CDT)
Hi Gem, I can't offer much in response to your questions, just to say that I am a (potential) PCOS sufferer from UK too. My symptoms; weight gain from slim size 12 in jeans and mini tops to frumpy dumpy 22 and ashamed to go out in 3 months (ugh); periods gone from 11 days long to 3 days long (quite nice in itself!) I agree that therte doesn't appear to be much in the UK resource-wise - I happened to find out about PCOS from a magazine of my Mum's which i was flicking through, otherwise I would not have known what to do. (I have had all the suual trying-to-lose wieght-and-failing stuff and having people just think I'm fat - or pregnant). I haven't signed up to Verity - but I may do if it turns out I have PCOS. Hormone test results (blood test) were borderline, so got to have them re-done, but now have to wait for the right time in my cycle - nearly a month away!
