Re: Addition to the early puberty....From: Barb (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 2 Sep 2002 12:34:54 -0500 (CDT)
Hi Bonnie, Doctor wanted me on the pill at age 15 because of the terrible menstral cramps and passing of clots. Finally, couldn't stand the period pain,so I went on mini orvral. I think this was the worst thing to do looking back now. I suffered terribly with my menstral cycles since onset at age nine or nine and a half.I know that I,too was in grade five. By the time I had periods for one consecutive year..the pains were so unbearable that I was home from school for three days out of the month..laying in bed buckled over in the severest pains that now I know felt much like when I had a miscarriage. I admit the pill regulated the period and no more period cramps, but in the long run I don't think this was the proper form of action. When I went off the pill to ttc...the period pains appeared again with greater force and once again....three days in bed buckled over in pain. I went off the pill at age 26. I will never go back on. >From my understanding from my endo who specialized in pcos...says that bcp's are the worst for pcos.I thought it may help with some of my current problems that I am having now. I haven't done much reading on bcp's...but since I have periods...I guess he felt no need to put me on a bcp to aggravate pcos.
>P.s did you get my email?
Barb
>I also started early 8 or 9, I was in grade 5 that much I do remember.
-- Sincerely, Barb C.
