Oh no, not preaching at all. Thanks for the info. I actually do quite a bit of what you are saying. Definitely move my eyes around instead of focusing on one thing. I have a hands free headset and if I call someone on the phone, I never am sleepy. So if no one is available, I worry. But I don't drive a lot of long distances during the day. Those other tips sound like they will help too, basically taking an "outloud" inventory of what's around me at all times. I'll try that one next time it happens. If my husband is in the car, I force him to talk to me. Actually he's usually the one sleeping in the car on the passenger side so I have to wake him up. That's why he is usually not talking to me (ha ha ha). If there are passengers in the car, I never am sleepy, provided they are awake and talking to me.
