Late periods for PCOSers when exercising?From: anonymous@obgyn.netWed, 28 Aug 2002 13:05:58 -0500 (CDT)
I have had PCOS for about 5 years. I have been on Synthroid(now Lavoxil) and Metformin all this time. I have been on and off the bcp in that time too. Currently I am off and have been for quite a few months, probably more than 6-7 months. I have had regular periods w/bcp and somewhat regular even w/out. I have recently been doing great w/out the bcp w/periods at about 35-40 days. To get to my point: My lmp was somewhere between 7/10 and 7/12 and I started a weight training program at that time too. 3 days a week for the last 6 weeks and I was recently mildly sedentary. With those dates that puts me about 50 days late. I have taken two PG tests with negative results. I've had two boughts of acne and cramping/bloating, and just all around feeling that I will/could start my cycle any day now! Also have had some nausea but then again I get that on and off w/the Metformin. I have also had some (sorry for the disgusting picture I'm about to paint) tissue-like white discharge in the last 3-4 weeks that I've not seen before. And lastly, not to mention, I could cry at the drop of a hat this past week. Have any of you had a delayed period a new workout regimen or do the other symptoms sound familiar to any of you and maybe I am PG after all? I have never had huuuuuuuuge signs of PG (1 mc/1 beautiful 1 1/2 year old girl). Each time I have been PG I didn't even realize it. I'm just a typical PCOSer that always takes PG tests when I'm running a little later than normal. I just found out this morning how many of you have had false negatives w/PCOS so I figured I could get some feedback from you ladies. Ah well, I'm off to the doc's today for a blood test anyhow. Still want your feedback in the meantime. Thanks for listening.
