Well, I finally got a dignosis after all these years of reoccuring obgyn problems. I am 34 years old and have been unable to conceive for the past 6 years despite all my trying. I have had hypothyroidism for the last 3 years but have had difficuly in getting a level of med that works for me. In short, I have had cysts since I was 12 and for the last two years I have had such erratic, intense menses that I have had 2 D&Cs(along with anemia) a course or two of provera, infected Bartholon? Cysts and yet till today no definite answers. During a physical for a new job which included a routine blood work up, my family physician found an exceedingly high blood sugar level. Upon discussing my female problems with him, he immediately ordered more bloodwork and an ultrasound. AND THERE YOU HAVE IT....Not only do I have Type II diabetes, I also have been diagnosed with PCOS. Please tell me there is light at the end of this tunnel. I have never felt so horrible both and physically and emotionally. Do I need to see an endocrinologist or what? I am about doctored out. This was the 12th doctor I have seen before being properly diagnosed.
