Hi Kimberly, Glad you are happy with your weight loss issues. I suppose we are all unique and what works for one does not work for the other. I was never overweight, but could gain weight so easily by eating some cookies and a chocolate bar in a week..making me retain water.I would stop it and lose the water.I guess I am really sensitive.

I was not concerned about it,as I was at a normal weight,..but it was the abdomen that bothered me.I think what was happening is that since I still had a cookie or piece of cake or what not in a day for a treat,it was fermenting in my GI tract and causing air and water retention, not to mention the IBS. I just wanted to point this out,as this doctor is strict with refined sugars and he just simply won't treat you if you don't follow his diet plans. He gives different meal plans out every week, done by a dietician.I am lucky to get a copy.It does allow for some ice cream..haray...I can have a little.

As for the Atkins diet-I am not fond of it over a long period of time.as a matter of a fact,I think that in the short term,it can have disasterous effects on some people, but don't all the diets out there. It's the chance that we take.My one specialist has been on it for a long time now and has never felt better. He believes in it,when my other specialist does not.To each their own. We all have our opinions on what diets. I had been following the protein power diet to get my health back, but never went to the extreme low,low carbing.I do low carb..but I do eat many veggies, certain fruits, legumes etc.I don't believe we were meant to eat only meat, fish and chicken. My doctor has suggested this book about the pulse and foods.I am seeing him tomorrow.Apparantly,it is an excellent book that shows that the pulse will raise when a certain food that we ingest is toxic to our blood/body type. I am unsure of the name, but will post it ,as it seems interesting. Thanks for the input.
