Hi Barbra-
I eat WAY more sugar than I should be eating, but still lose weight at a
steady pace as long as I watch my calories. I'm on 2000mg glucophage. I
know low carbing would be best for me, but I spent so much time low
carbing and not losing an ounce that I have really bad feelings about
the Atkins diet. I would love to be someone that could be on a low-fat
and low-carb diet (which I'm sure is the best diet for anyone to be on)
but I just can't do it, there are just so few foods that fall under this
category that I think I'd go nuts. As it stands now I'm losing about
1.5 lbs a week (with 30 to 50 left to lose, depending on what my body
chooses to do) and have lost a total of 55lbs. If there comes a time
when I'm no longer losing or feeling great, I will surely look into
low-carbing as an option. I guess we all have to find what works for us
- but I don't think it can be said as a rule that we can't lose weight
while still enjoying the sweeter things in life! I must say that I have
not yet low-carbed and been on glucophage at the same time - so perhaps
my results would be even better that way - but I guess I'm pretty happy
with the steady weight loss I'm experiencing.
