Abstaining from sugars????From: Barb (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 22 Aug 2002 19:38:04 -0500 (CDT)
Do most of you limit or totally eliminate refined sugars in your diet? Do you cheat and have a piece of cake? Just wondering how this interferes with the weighloss issues while on GLUC. I go to the clinic regularily where they have these women (PCOS)that are participating in a group study. They are tried on different meds. Most were extremely overweight.Since they totally eliminated all refined sugars from their diets-almost all are very satisfied with their weight loss. I know what it is like to have the sugar cravings, but I don't need to lose the weight, but have done so as I do not give in to one little cookie anymore and this has made the difference in more weight loss.I think that by me not giving in to that one little chocolate chip cookie has made a difference. My abdominal viscosity has just resolved.I must have been very sensitive to sugars. I've heard some women mention that they barely eat anything and still cannot drop any weight even while on Gluc.Could it be that we are that sensitive that even a half of teaspoon of sugar is something that we cannot handle? Think of everything you eat in a day and then see how much refined sugars you are actually consuming without realizing it. HOpe this helps with weight loss,as I was wondering why I was losing weight, yet eating so much.NO sugar!Body is more toned and now considered Lean. I think this was in a period of about three months or so. I was at 155...now 138 and getting more energy.I am five feet four.
-- Sincerely, Barb C.
