I have been told by my first endo that the excess insulin does make the blood thicker, "could have" contributed to my stoke along with the fact that I was on birth control pills. Also, I have a heart valve leak, supposedly congenital, but that did not contribute to stroke---whatever, whatever! The neurologist and cardiologist tested my clotting factors, they came back ok, but so did the blood glucose/ insulin,,,now look where I am! They said nothing about insulin resistance-- which I have off the charts! They just don't study other areas of med. It is funny how the world is pushing for low fat low cholesterol, but it is the high carb addicts that are the sick ones. It is proven that exess sugars in the blood turn into fat, clogging arteries, causing heart disease stroke... but still they push the low fat. DUMB! Sorry, had to vent...
