Hi Paula,

breastfeeding itself is supposed to suppress ovulation (particularly the breast feeding on demand - I think). However the breast feeding thing doesn't aways work - my mother has 6 children (all completely breast fed) within 6 years - but I think generally it can be ok. There are some bcp that are considered ok with breast feeding (I think... you could check it out anyway - I think they are progesterone only, or something...)

Considering you have such problems with artificial contraception, perhaps you could find someone who specialises in natural family planning methods (these comprise a whole range of tools). Sure it is a lot more work, but you will be aware of what is happening...... and then you just have to avoid sex during ovulation.

Just some ideas to throw around.

Best wishes

Sally
