Hi everybody, found the forum today after having to come home from work with volcanic stomach pains and diarrea, resulting from just one 500mg tablet of metformin taken last night! I was diagnosed with PCOS and IR a while ago - took Metformin for a month or so building up to 4 tablets per day until it began to interfere with my work - a teacher, so i can't exactly shoot off to the toilet whenever the urge takes me. So i dropped off it and put up with the PCOS and the associated ill health and hoped it would all go away.... you know the story, it just doesn't! Yesterday an appointment with an infertility doctor made me decide to have another go, because I guess I can't just sit here waiting for my life and health to magically improve, and am sitting here bawling my eyes out because only one lousy tablet and I'm back to the explosive diarrea!! my Doctor has previously told me that it was fats that were associated with the diarrea not carbs - and I am a sucker for baked goods, lollies and cakes LOL - maybe I will take another tab tonight as it is the weekend tomorrow and eat only fruit and vegies and see how I go.... Anyway my point is that I am glad to have found you all. I hope that this time I can keep it happening... Cheers, Caz from Australia!
