advice needed on ortho-tricyclen/bcp's

i hope someone can help.. saw the endo today and finally accepted a prescription for ortho. he's been suggesting it since he diagnosed me three years ago and i have always resisted because of all the bad things i have heard about bcp's. he said it would help with hairloss since that is my biggest concern. but my second biggest concern is controlling my weight, which has been really hard the past 6 mos. he said that bcp's dont always make you gain and sometimes make you lose. does anyone have any first hand knowledge of that?

i dont see many of you on bcp's, especially not ortho. what do you think of it? i dont know why he picked ortho either..

i'm just so frustrated...i saw some pictures taken of me recently and saw how my thin my hair is getting. i tried taking a low dosage of spiro in the winter months but it made me bleed a lot and my endo took me off of it because of that.

i'm at a loss; please help.
