Re: ACNE

I never had a pimple in my life until I was 20. I always thought that was ironic!! I find that the glucophage REALLY helps with this, although it took quite a while. When I was on 1500mg, it didn't do a thing for the acne. Now that I am at 3g, it is much improved, although it took almost a year at that dose for it to really go away and stay gone. I also use a face wash with salicylic acid in the mornings and sometimes (maybe 2 or 3X a week) use a small amount of benzoyl peroxide cream in trouble spots. But I have used that combo before glucophage without good results. I even tried Proactive and although I loved the products, they did nothing for me. For some reason, right now, it's been clearing - I can only attribute it to the meds! The only signs I ever had acne are a few shallow scars on my cheeks - not even really noticeable unless the light is right. I'm very pleased because it's a huge improvement.
