Re: Anyone out there with Ovulation, Regular or Semi-Regular Periods and PCOS?From: Joy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 9 Aug 2002 07:45:01 -0500 (CDT)
Lenora, I am not formally diagnosed with PCOS, but my doctor highly suspects it. Why?? Because the one and only time I have ever gotten pregnant out of 9 years of no birth control was 6 weeks into being on the Atkins diet. I also have developed a chin and neck hair problem that has worsened over the past 5 years and unexplained weight gain. Other than that, I have always had very regular cycles and 3 days of ovulation cramping every month with copious ewcm. I am also not "overweight" and at my laparoscopy in 1999, only endometriosis was found. No cysts. So, this is a very complicated and confusing disorder. Never thought that I had this based on most of the symptoms, but now that I am doing research, it sounds like that could be it. Oh, and my fasting insulin came out normal, as well as progesterone. My doc still prescribed metformin for me and I have been on it one week. I really hope this is the key, because I am tired of waiting. Good luck to you! Joy
