Sonnet,

I was having irregular cycles at one time and when I discussed it with my PCP she mentioned that if I didn't have a period for 3 months she would "just give you some clomid" to get things going. So this guy is not the first!

I have done many rounds of clomid at different times. The very first time I was put on 100mg because I had cysts and my OB said that the lower dose would not work. I ovulated on the first try and got pregnant on the second month. My dr had me take it days 4-8 but my RE says it doesn't matter—you can start on day 3, 4, or 5.

Now I am taking 50mg unmonitored but my OB does feel that anyone taking a higher dose should be monitored with an ultrsound before a cycle. Also, everything I have read indicates that it is standard to only start clomid after a bleed (natural or induced).

Hope this helps with your decision,

zan
