Re: Period after ovarian drilling?From: Dave (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 31 Jul 2002 20:22:13 +0100
Well I read on the internet that it is better for us to lose a bit of weight before the op, as it makes it easier for the lapaoscopy to get through, and is much more effective. How much better it would have come across if your gynae had said about the ir link, and the best diet for pcos being lower carb, which in turn may help with other aspects as well as weight loss. These people don't realise that when they say go away and lose weight that we have already probably tried to diet the "normal" way and failed! All that happens is you feel more despondent, I know I did! I was lucky, my gynae suggested a diet, and said that he could op regardless, but that it would be better if I lost 36lb. When I returned having lost 17lb, he said that would be good enough, I think some of them want some commitment from you too.
