I was also told that. I was on the pill for about 4 years when I stopped to try to get pregnant. Before the pill I would have a period about every 6 months. They were always painful. After the pill I decided to try Depo Provera. So far two years of no periods, no pain, no mood swings, and at my last ultrasound no cysts. I am alot happier now.
