Re: news from Ontario, CanadaFrom: susan (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 30 Jul 2002 18:00:20 -0500 (CDT)
Hi: Am VERY new at this so forgive any mistakes. I still don't know my way around this website, but am desperately searching for some help for a doctor or clinic in Toronto who specializes in pcos. I found out about pcos by accident in a magazine but it so matched my symptoms that I took it to my family doctor. While sympathetic, he did not seem to know much about it. i photocopied the article and he took it to read. In meantime he referred me to a female ob/gyn who on meeting me shrugged off the whole pcos thing, told me to make a list of what I ate and come back and see her. She gave me a diabetic diet book. Needless to say that is not the response I was looking for so never did go back. It has been over 2 years since a period and my doctor says I am not menapausal (I check at every annual) Birth control pills do nothing. Have always had abnormal periods and though conceived children (I have 3, lost 1) that is not my concern now. I am grossly overweight and am being treated for depression. have extremely low energy levels. PLEASE!!!! anyone out there, recommend doctor or clinic. Thanks very much, Susan
