If I were you, I would question that. Sounds like something one of my 3 x-endos would write....notice the "x"...yah, I fired them all. LOL >

Many women, including myself, find that starting the first few weeks of Glucophage on only 1/2 a pill with dinner, then working up a bit, prevented those types of side effects.

The trouble is that no one so far >will prescribe it for me, since they say that my fasting insulin is

10 or higher is considered IR. Unfortunately, it does not always say that on the lab report, but my gyn specifically told me 10 was the magic number. I think a few girls here on the forum have said that as well. If you had a 12, that is IR. If you still can't convince a doctor, then ask for an IGTT (Insulin Glucose Tolerance Test) where it will most likely show up more obviously.

Also, if you feel you have a number of "symptoms" of IR, write them down, and take them to your doctor.

Me too!

At least the PA was honest. Get a copy of that blood test. Then make an appt. with a gyn or endo... asking in advance on the phone if this doctor is up to date and knowledgeable in pcos. Unfortunately, they all are not. I understand that a "reproductive endo" is your best bet. >
