Cat, I took the brand name of Spiro for nearly a year back in 1996 to 1997 and it along with the pill has been very helpful to me. I lost nearly 20 lbs while on it but ended up stopping it for a time b/c of the fact that I had very hot hands for a while. Well, now being on the generic and at the same dosage I've not had the problems with my hands, and yes I'm losing some of the weight that I have had. My weight issue is b/c of water retention, but as far as the fat issue like is the case with my mom I am able to lose weight if I exercise like I'm supposed to.
