symptoms of PCOSFrom: anonymous (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 23 Jul 2002 05:37:45 -0500 (CDT)
I am 27 yr. old and married 4 years back. My periods are irregular from last 4 yrs and never came in time without medicines (progesterone). Now from last 6 months we are planning to conceive. My 2nd day hormone test report is : FSH=6.85 mIU/ml, LH=4.50 mIU/ml, TSH=2.48 uIU/ml, Prolactin=6.70 ng/ml, progesterone=0.79 ng/ml, Estradiol(E2)‘.36pg/ml. Doctor has tried clomiphene 100mg for 3 cycles but follicle size in Rt. ovary not increase after 5-6 mm and Lt. ovary 4-7 mm.Next doctor gave Decapeptyl on days 2,3&4 and then Metrodin 75IU on day 6,7,8,10,11 and 150IU on D13,16. The follicle size on day 19 was 9.4 mm in Lt. ovary. The Rt. ovary was detected having 11mm cyst + many small follicles of 5-7 mm in both ovaries. Tubes are open. I don't have facial hairs. no hair loss. My height 5.5 inch, weight 65 kg. Are these may be signs of PCOS? How you know that those small structures are cysts not follicles. Any technique? Can pelvic ultrasound will help?
