Hello,

I have laser treatments done. You can shave everyday. In fact if you don't shave they shave you before the treatment because the laser is more effective if it has a shorter hair shaft to travel down.

My lady told me I was perfect for laser, fair skined and dark hair ( my facial hair is black). I have been having treatments for over a year, every two months. It is working, slowly but surely.

I think lasers are very safe if used properly by an experienced tech. I found my lady through a friend at work so I felt very confident in her abilities. You should ask to speak to some of the other patients if possible. You should also be seen by the Dr. on staff to approve you for the treatment. If there is no Dr. I would seek another place for treatment.

I checked into electrolysis. It is a very long session. 1/2 to 1 hr. And painful I have heard. I mean they are sticking a needle into your hair folicle and then pulling it out. Lazer, on the other hand, takes me 5 min. It does sting. It feels like your snapping yourself with a tiny, hard rubber band. But it is over so fast you can stand it. You wear goggles so your eyes are protected.

I was waxing the whole area from the bottom of my chin back to my throat. I ripped off the first layer of skin one night. I hated going into work the next day. My friend saw me and begged me to go for laser. I didn't shave because of razor burn. Plucking took hours because the growth was that of a man's. I shave everyday now just because I like feeling smooth. I can go for about two days before you can see the growth. The lazer does something to my hair that makes the shaving go smoothly, no razor burn. If I put off my treatment too long though the hair starts to get rough again.

So, I say go for an intial appointment to see if you are a good canadit (sp). You do not have to suffer with hair growth. Also, talk to your OB about Yasmin BCP or aldactone. They help with the growth. If you do not treat the cause of the growth nothing will get rid of it permenantly. If your OB makes thing too difficult find another.

Hope this helps. Rochelle
