GOT PREGNANT...LOST IT...Alesse 28From: anonymous (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 16 Jul 2002 23:19:34 -0500 (CDT)
Well, after 3 years of having unprotected sex with my husband I got pregnant in June of this year...and then lost it. All the doctors I had seen said that I couldn't get pregnant because of my PCO were wrong! ha!...that I wouldn't drop and egg...and then one Doc told me that my body could decide to drop an egg at any time. (by the way 3 weeks after she told me I COULD ACTUALLY get pregnant I did!...gynx!) She said that she didn't want me to be taking meds like prometrium to spark withdrawal bleeds if I had the "chance" of becoming pregnant...She said she would feel much better and said she knew it would be safer if I had gotten a period from being on the pill instead (even though I expressed my fears and woes of the pill). I can release her name so that all of you think what I am saying has actual validity, but she is an ObGyn specialist in the Minneapolis area. (I am not sure of the rules of whether I can use names or not). She said that being on progesterone (sp) creams, etc weren't healthy if I was sexually active, for potential of pregnancy. I am sexially active of course, and she said that being on meds like prometrium (which I was at the time) weren't healthy when conceiving. As of now I am on nothing, but am taking a serum preg test at the end of this week...and then going on the pill this Sunday. (IF of course I am not pregnant). She wanted to make sure I wasn't pregnant before going on the pill...Hubby and I have to wait 30 days until we have sex again so the pill will take effect...(condoms just aren't for some people). So I am going on this pill now called "Allese 28" also known as "Levonorgestrel and Ethinyl Estradiol". HAVE ANY OF YOU BEEN ON THIS OR CURRENT TAKE THIS? I am just terrified of all the risks involved here and if anyone has had any good/bad/indiferent effects. PLEASE post a response...I am sure this will help alot of us! Thanks! GRace, MN
