Sex drive and PCOSFrom: anonymous (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 7 Jul 2002 20:42:58 -0500 (CDT)
This is an embarrassing question for me to ask but I really need some help, and I thought you ladies were the people to ask since you all know so much! I have a pretty high sex drive. I masturbate at least once a day. But my husband doesn't seem to have one at all. We only have sex about once every month or 6 weeks. I am always tempted to think that he just doesn't want me because of the way PCOS makes me look, but I had all of these symptoms when we met and got married and everything else. It's always been this way. About a year or two ago he asked his doctor about it, and his doctor gave him some Viagra. It helps with the physical side but he is still just not interested. We have discussed going to some sort of counseling but I am too ashamed to go, I think that anybody would just take one look at fat hairy me and think, well of course he isn't intersted. Has anyone else had to deal with this when they had PCOS? How can you face the right people to get things to change? This is just killing me and is very hard on our marriage, every year it gets worse. What about taking enough drugs like bcp or something to kill my sex drive, do you think that might help? Please any suggestions are welcome. Thank you.
