Randi,

That's what we've been talking about when someone goes from non-insulin dependent type 2 to insulin-dependent type 2. It's just different terminology. When the body's cells' receptor sites for the insulin don't work adequately, the pancreas works extra hard to get more insulin out there, and it eventually wears out, and doesn't make insulin anymore.

<<<Renee - how do you go from stage 4 (high sugar levels and high insulin levels) to Stage 5 - Full blown diabetes - (high sugar levels and LOW insulin levels). How does your insulin switch from high to low like that? Thanks for the descriptions, though, good to know (and explain).
