Please share the name of the test with us when you find out.
It is possible to get diagnosed with type 1 in your 20s. That's why I said
"earlier in life." Type 2 traditionally doesn't develop (or should I say get
diagnosed) until mid-life, though it's now being diagnosed in kids under 10.
If you have type 1, you'd probably be dead, or at least very ill, if you went
on for long (ie: several years), since insulin is vital to life. How long was
your friend treated for type 2 diabetes when she supposedly had type 1?
Remember, type 1 means you don't produce insulin. The symptoms are very
different between the two forms.
