Dear Discouraged:

No, it's not true that you can't lose weight. Good books to read are "The Schwarzbein Principal" by Dr. Diana Schwarzbein and "The Carbohydrate Addict's Lifespan Plan" by Drs. Richard and Rachel Heller. They explain what you need to do to lose weight. Keep up exercising and just hang in there. I can't believe there's no way you can lose ANY weight. It might be slow, and it may take you a long time and you may have to be very strict. But it is possible.
