Very Discouraged!

I had another long talk with my doctor about PCOS and I've been quite discouraged since. The reason my doctor began suspecting I had PCOS was that I had all of the classic signs except for the cysts. I went to her because I have been working out 5-6xs per week (30-60 min depending), and eating healthy (low-fat, moderate unrefined carbs) and I have not lost any weight. I began this regemin because of my Type 2 diabetes diagnosis. What was so discouraging about our talk was that she told me I may never be able to lose the 70 lbs I want to lose. She told me I have to focus on exercise and healthy eating as a means for controlling my diabetes and warding off heart disease, but that I might not lose weight. Can this really be true?!? I just hate the way I look when I see myself in a mirror. I want to be thin again and be able to shop in "normal" stores. I just don't want to accept this statement.

Thanks!

PS- Pat, thanks for your awesome website. It contains a lot of very helpful information!!
