Re: Allese 28 day birthcontrol pillFrom: Shelly (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 2 Jul 2002 10:12:59 -0500 (CDT)
Hi, I just decided to check in and happened to see a response to my original post. The doctor I was seeing at the time was very knowledgeable about PCOS, but as most was insinuating that my weight was the source of my problems. I took the Allese 28 for a month, then started getting the generic version. Once I was on it for a while I really had no bad side effects. I only took it for a few months. It's just too expensive. I can tell you that when I was younger (I'm 32 now) I was consistently on the pill. My problems didn't get worse until I quit taking it. I am seeing a different doctor now at a community health center and she is wonderful. I didn't have to explain to her what I have or why I'm on the Glucophage. She asked me! I am going in to see her again in mid-July. I'm considering getting back on the pill, because the health center is a "based on your income" health center. I might actually be able to afford the pills. I am interested to find out what birth control pill she will recommend. I can't say that Allese 28 really "helped" with PCOS symptoms, but maybe I didn't stay on it long enough. Hope this helps.
