I'm not sure what you are wanting to get more info from us on the message board about - but I would like to remind you, myself and anyone reading this that regardless of what symptoms are physically visable - ANYONE with PCOS is at increased risk for heart disease, diabetes, stroke etc., - that is why using birth control pills as your sole treatment is not enough. Bcp's are great for some women (myself included) but they do absolutely nothing to prevent the ravages that insulin resistance and excess testosterone cause to the body over the long-term life-span. You should seriously consider trying Glucophage again, (as it often provides easier weight loss) and do serious research on how the side effects can be minimized -or just wait them out, as they eventually go away. - or you can try Actos or Avandia which are insulin sensitizers that don't necessarily aid in weight loss, but lower the future risks of serious pcos complications. Better yet, vigilant diet and exercise are problably the best and cheapest treatments available to everyone. Not only can a proper diet circumvent the insulin resistance problem, but exercise can greatly increase insulin sensitivity. I too, suffer few symptoms besides irregular periods, weight gain and slight acne (almost all of which are under control now) - but my triglycerides are sky high and diabetes runs in my family - so I constantly need to remind myself that even though I'm feeling great, my future is grim without constant attention to the things I can not see.

best of luck Kimberly

* also, BCP's do make insulin resistance somewhat worse (that is why diabetics should not be on them)so that is something to keep in mind when choosing not to treat the insulin resistance in any way.
